Louise is interested in developing a visual language in oil paint that communicates something of the perception of light, form, colour and atmosphere of an experience or observation, the essence of a subject.

Based in the Cotswolds with her family, Louise originally trained in design. Following her Art Foundation at Winchester School of Art she studied at and received her BA Hons from Goldsmiths College UOL 1997. She has worked in various mediums during her career, predominantly Studio glass alongside her husband in their Glassblowing studio.

Over time her glass pieces became progressively more illustrative and representational until her lifelong love of drawing and painting developed into a redirection of focus and she is now exploring painting in oils.

In 2021 Louise attended classes at Newlyn Art School and Art Academy London, she went on to study online at the Royal Drawing School and Slade School of Art. She has also received tuition from several contemporary painters. Her work was shortlisted in the Broadway Art competition 2022 and she was awarded first place for her submission in the 2022 Cheltenham Plein Air competition. Most recently Louise is proud to have had paintings selected for the Royal Society of British Artists Bicentenary Exhibition 2023 and the New English Art Club Annual exhibition 2023 both at The Mall Galleries London.
